Photo exhibition with a difference
Butchers, in their everyday surroundings, as potential photography material? Yes, photographer Pankaj Mistry has captured butchers from Mumbai in their environment. None of the pictures are posed for; that would explain why they look so real and poignant.
The exhibition is on at Kashi Art Cafe in Kochi, from March 1-12.
All the pictures capture the life of these butchers and the nuances like their emotions and expressions, intact. It also moves into their homes and looks at their families, too. It gives us a glimpse into their personal and professional lives.
