Vivel Miss Kerala 2009 – A Celebration Of Women!
With a prosperous 10-year history, the Miss Kerala pageant has become an internationally known brand. It is the brainchild of Impressario Event Management India Ltd, and is conducted with much pomp every year. The event’s participants are Keralites who are living in Kerala and those abroad, too.
Swapna Menon, from Thrissur, was the first winner of the beauty event. The program is meant to choose the most gifted Malayali girl-someone who will be Kerala’s ambassador, so to say.
The Miss Kerala Foundation is a socially responsible organisation that was started in 1999. It undertakes social and public causes under its banner, especially those concerning children. In its 10th year, the pageant ties up with the ‘Save the girl child’ project.
This beauty pageant has launched many fresh faces into the fashion and media world with its annual contests. Winners are given chances to act in movies, host shows and some go on to become national and international models.
The finals, where 21 contestants will vie for the crown, will be held on August 5, at Le Meridien, Cochin.
