On a High! – Cricket On Snow
Imagine playing cricket at more than 11,000ft? That, too, on a snow-capped mount in Switzerland! Yup, it will be a six-a-side match played by veteran Indian players such as Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad and Ajay Jadeja against an all stars team.
The friendly match is going to take place on the Bernese Alps between two valleys, on Indian Independence day, August 15. Cricket has been played on ice earlier, but this is the first time on snow. There will be a a mat pitch placed on a wooden platform in the centre of a 30-yard field.
