Louis Cruises India, a subsidiary of Louis Cruise Lines, is set to take the Indian cruise scenario to a new level this December when it starts operations with luxury cruise liner, MV Aquamarine from its home port in Kochi. Louis Cruises Lines is a major European tourism organization. This company with a 74-year-old history also operates 20 four and five star hotels in Greece and Cyprus. The cruise company operates cruises from Cyprus, France, Italy and Greece, and they have a fleet of 12 cruise ships.
For its Indian travellers, the company will offer packages of two nights/three days to Maldives and Sri Lanka and one night high sea sailing from Kochi. MV Aquamarine can accommodate 1,250 passengers and has 525 cabins. The cruise has three restaurants, a swimming pool, three bars and a video arcade. Guests can play cricket on board using bowling machines. One of the packages comes with free sailing for children up to 14 years.
There will be Indian and European theme entertainment, casinos and bars, duty free shopping, spas and many luxury facilities. The cruise company plans to start year-round cruising options soon. It will mark a new beginning for cruises from India. It will also boost Kerala’s importance as a world cruise destination.
